Whatever you wanna do, you have to connect yout phone to computer. You have three options:

1. infrared (IrDA) - my favorite way, all that you need is to buy USB IR converter, and plug it into USB cabel that is connected to computer. Enable IR connection on your mobile phone, place it next to converter and that's it.

2. bluetooth - check up if you phone has that option

3. cabel - to phisically connect phone and comp - I don't like it much since it is expensive, and if you buy some other phone, you'll need other expensive cabel.

If you wanna upload polyphone melody to mobile phone, conct it to your comp, and use Nokia PC Suite or Oxygen Phone Manager. I prefer second program. You can also use both for uploading pictures. Those programs also allow you to back up all the data that you have on your phone.

Make it on your own

Polyphones

First you need to find midi file of some song. It looks like songname.mid You can also compose it if you are able to :) Midi files are nothing like mp3s. They have only info about instruments that will be used and melodies that will computer produce on it's own. That's why file is only few KB size.

Run Nokia PC Suite. Find your phone model in the list. It will tell you how many instruments is your phone able to play in the same time. If it is ten or more, good for you. Then you can only cut a piece of midi file that you want to be produced on the phone and that's it. My phone can play only four instruments. That's why I have turn off all instruments but four that I like.

To cut midi file and turn off instruments, use PSMPlay. It is small and simple program, but very efficient. I had only one question about it - I cuted 30 sec of song, turned off all intruments but four and at the end didn't know how to save it. Answer was too obvious to be understood. Just press red button in program and it will save part of song that you have chosen. It has to have extension .mid. Upload it.

You can also useOxygen Phone Manager to upload mid file.

Wallpapers

So you want to set your own pic as wallpaper? No problem. Run Nokia PC Suite. Find your phone model in the list. It will tell you how big your wallpaper has to be to fit phone screen. For my model 7250i it is 128x128. If chosen pic is too big, this program allows you to upload only certain part of selected picture. Anyway, when you see required measures that you need, run some picture editor, such as PhotoShop or similar, cut off some parts of pic to fit the size or resize whole pic to fit dimensions. Upload the pic.

You can also use Oxygen Phone Manager to upload pic to your phone.
